"Me and Nev I guess," she shrugged, falling back into place next to him on the sofa as she restowed the parchment into her pocket. "But its pretty unofficial. We mostly go by a vote system he and I just organise it."

Everyone could have seen that one coming really...
The blackly humours thought drifted through her mind in resignation in the split second before the spell hit and she was once again writhing on the ground, scream ripping from her throat, wounded hand quickly forgotten in the face of her new agony, bloody appendage scrabbling on the flagstones like its whole partner.

The parchment shimmered a moment as it absorbed his signature before the others suddenly jumped into clarity around his, adding Alex's name to their number.
Ginny looked up with a genuine smile at his words, eyes flickering over him a moment before she grinned - looking in that instance very like her twin brothers, reaching out to clap the Ravenclaw on the shoulder.
"Thank you for proving my instincts right, it's good to have you with us Alex," she returned honestly, reaching out for the parchment to reroll it. "So I guess now is the Qand A part. Feel free, I can be honest with you now."

"As I said before Professor, I simply don't have talent in this class," she returned stubbornly, though she dutifully lifted the first mouse by its tail and 'attempted the spell'. The mouse considered a moment before sneezing out some water, but was otherwise unharmed.

Ginny's glare remained stony.
"That's all. Can I go now?" she asked, tone less than impressed.

"Yes Professor, I'm willing to give up. I realise I was wrong. I'm sure I will be better educated by the end of your lecture."
She kept her voice monotone, concentrating on saying the words, meaningless words, thats all they were. Simple lies to protect those around her. It wasn't a big deal...

Ginny eyed the woman, her gaze like that of a trapped animal, debating wether to back up more or lash out. Her hand throbbed and her body still trembled but her anger and indignation burned brightly in her chest.
Pick your battles Weasley... The voice sounded just a little like Draco's dry drawl in the back of her head. If there was one thing this war had taught her sometimes pride needed to take a back seat to get the job done.
Slowly, bad hand still cradled to her chest, eyes never leaving Bellatrix's souless orbs, Ginny reached into her pocket to take a grip of the dragons breath elixer she had just slipped in before trying to leave, pulling it out carefully and setting it on the floor between them, eyes narrowing.

A cry left Ginny's lips as her skin was brutally split open, hand instantly lashing back to her chest, cradling it there as she rolled over, struggling to sit up as she attempted to stay the bleeding with her robes.
"I was borrowing potion supplies," she ground out, pressing the black fabric to her hand as she turned her head to glare over her shoulder. "Professor Slughorne said I could."

Ginny's body slumped back to the ground as the spell let up at last, breathing hoarse against her raw throat, body trembling noticeably now as her muscles spasomed lightly in the aftermath. Every inch of her hurt... but that wasn't a new or even strange sensation to her any more. Not after this term.
Slowly her eyes blinked open again, lids heavy, gaze fighting to focus for a moment on the shaggy black head that loomed over her, the words sinking into her mind as the haze cleared.
Again the hatred was there, but slowly the redhead shifted her arm out to the older witch in grudging offering. She didn't want another hit like that...

Salazar she was a bloody fool!
Agony lanced white hot through her body, screaming through every nerve cell she had, her body jerking up again as her back arched, head falling back as this time a scream was torn from her throat as her body sought any release from the blinding hurt.

Oh bloody hell... of all the Snakes why did she have to choose him?
Oh wait she knew that one, because the damn psycopath liked to torture him. Guilty, apologetic eyes briefly met with Draco's before Ginny lowered her eyes again in submission, swallowing past the lump of unfairness in her throat.
No more pride, or indignation, not here, not now... She was not about to sit back and cause Draco to be tortured, she wasn't. She'd say whatever it took just so long as the mad bitch left him be.
Alecto might be mad, but she was smart... she knew Ginny would be defiant as long as it was her ass on the line. Picking someone else she knew would shake the redhead's determination. Why she had elected it to be a Slytherin she didn't know - either to test her dislike for torture, or to see if there really was a vicious streak in her she supposed.
Time to play the weak card then... Gods she hated this, hated it with every fibre of her body.
"No Professor, I don't have any convictions. I was wrong, I spoke in ignorance, I'm sorry."

Her back crashed back down to the cold stone from where it had been arching, throat finally opening again as she desperately sucked in breaths, gasping and panting as she lay on the floor, limbs trembling slightly with the residual tremors from the crucio.
Eyes with pupils dialated with pain shifted groggily towards the dark haired woman, a flickering of genuine loathing showing in their unguarded depths.
"Why?"
Gods she was being an idiot, she even knew it... but everything in her body screamed at her not to obey Bellatrix bloody Lestrange. Not ever.

The redhead's eyes grew brighter as her anger burned, hands curling into fists as she glared hatefully at the woman, though she bit her tongue, following the nutter's wand to Alex.
Oh she wanted to argue, desperately wanted to prove the evil cow wrong - not that she would ever admit it mind you, Ginny wasn't fool enough to believe that, but to listen to her vile prejudice unchallenged...
If the wand had been aimed at her she *might* have been stupid enough to answer, but as much as her heart rebelled against it, she knew it was better to take her insanity and hatred than to let her friends be tortured for her inability to keep her mouth shut.
"No, Professor," she forced out, schooling her voice to humble as she ducked her head to her desk. "You're right, I can't. I'm sorry for talking out of place."
The words were like oil in her mouth - thick and claggy, making her want to puke, but she forced them out, making her mind focus on the mental image of Alex screaming under a crucio.
Godric and Salazar united she hated this woman.

Annoyance built in Ginny as the woman met her words, taunting her, needling her patience.
Some of what she said was true - of course she knew of the Salem witch trials; a dark time in muggle history where they did indeed commit atrocities, but to use that as proof that they were as a species only worthy of death...
"And our kind has never committed horrors?" the words pushed past her lips, eyes defiant as she met the woman's eyes with a glare. "A few hundred years ago we were all living in peace and harmony? We don't use 'blood' to call people savages and crush them under our ideals? You're not teaching about muggles, you're teaching about human nature."
she knew she'd regret them, regret rising to the mad woman's bait... but bloody hell, she was sick of all this slander and lies. This skewed perception of reality, to call out about horrors as you were torturing innocents.

Ginny registered the shift of the muscles that betrayed the woman's intent, eyes widening and body throwing itself to the side with the reflexes she had gained from Quidditch and the last few weeks intensive work in the DA, however for all her speed, Bellatrix was faster, years of fighting at the front lines of the Dark Lord's army and even longer perfecting that spell making the actions almost as natural as breathing to the mad witch.
The spell caught Ginny over the side as she dove, hitting into her hip and spidering out in vicious tendrils that caused her to sprawl to the floor, body thrashing as her voice and breath caught in her throat, nothing more than a desperate agonised strangled wheeze escaping as she writhed.

Ginny backed up, wand still in hand, eyes locked on the woman before her like she was a dangerous animal that might attack at any moment.
The sensible part of her head told her to just do as she was told - Rodolphus Lestrange was already a teacher, why shouldn't his mad wife be one too? But she couldn't quite get her body to listen, mind simply insisting that this woman was a threat, images of Sirius falling through that veil playing over and over on loop.
"Thanks, but my hand's good where it is," she countered, voice low and stubborn.

Ginny jumped back with a hissed curse as the door was thrown open, eyes widening and instantly scrabbling for her wand at the sight of none other than Bellatrix Lestrange, actions automatic, mind instantly snapping back to the last time she had seen her - the Ministry battle.
"What are *you* doing here?" the words blurted out before she could stop them.

*REBOOT*
Shoving the last ingredient into her pocket, Ginny paused to listen at the storeroom door a moment before venturing out into the classroom. She was on another potion raid - honestly she felt like she was having to do this far to much lately... But they were going through supplies fast so she had no choice.
This time however she was without the saftey of the map to guide her, Neville having needed it more as he tried to rendezvous with Tonks. Taking a deep breath, the redhead prayed for luck as she slipped silently towards the exit of the room.

Nodding her head one last time, Ginny moved to her pocket, pulling from it a small roll of parchment, though as she flicked it open it appeared to be much longer than it at first seemed, the top headed Dumbledore's Army and the rest covered in signatures, though to Alex's eyes they were blurry and unreadable.
Smoothing it out on the table, Ginny proffered him a quill - provided by the room and some ink.
"Just sign at the bottom and then we can really get started."

Glad to have a crowd now to loose her presence in, Ginny continued to play with her mice, idly casting a light tickling charm over them as she 'bungled' another attempt at the spell, her lips twitching slightly as her mice started wriggling at the sensation - infinitely more pleasurable than most of the other wriggling mice, but then again, who here was well read enough in rodent body language to tell the difference.
As she did so her mind idly went over what she would actually have needed to do for the assignment - she might refuse on principle to torture anything for the sake of a class, however that didn't mean her mind didn't appreciate the skill required in the transformations.
She personally would start in the heart... it would localise the spell and bring the blood to her to transform rather than having to focus on all the tiny little veins and arteries. It would need changing on the cellular level - tricky but not above most advanced transfig. Likewise turning organic into inorganic wasn't to hard - the real trick was containing the spell to just the blood; an exercise in rather extreme control. If it hadn't been so barbaric, McGonigall likely would have approved.
No, the Gryffindor decided, continuing to tickle her mice. The heart was the way to do it - you could narrow your focus to capture the bloodflow as it came through the main vein from the body, changing it there and letting it pump around. Eventually you'd get all the blood as it had to complete its cycle back into the heart for more oxygen.

Leaning back in her seat, Ginny leaned her head back to study the ceiling a moment before finally tilting it back to glance at the Hufflepuff.
"Honestly Susan?" she murmured softly, lips tilting in a wry smile as she considered the other girl. "Theres a good chance we might not live to see the end of this year... even if we do we might not see the next one or the one after. As long as this war continues we're on a ticking time bomb. Way I figure it is why worry any more? If persuing him makes you happy - even for just a moment, if it takes your mind of things long enough to forget about all the other crap, then go for it. We all need our escapes."
Was that what she was doing with Draco? Escaping? Forgetting about the rest of the world for a moment... yeah she supposed it was, just like he was doing with her.
Whether that made it better or worse however, she had no idea...

"How about asking for some extra help with his class stuff," she offered with a shrug. "That gets you an excuse from one on one time at least and take it from there."
Really she knew she shouldnt be encouraging her to moon after a teacher... but again, it simply felt nice to be focused on something so lightsome.

"Yeah that's right," she agreed, warming to the subject a little as she told herself to ignore the Slytherin fool across the room, and how Draco was letting her fawn over him. "Substitute seeker as well, but I prefer to play chaser. What about you two? Any interest in Quidditch?"
She cast her eyes to Alex as well, including him in the conversation.

Ginny remained silent as her classmates pitched in, though her expression was dubious. Boggarts were a Defence topic, everyone knew that - dark creatures were for defence, CoMC was for the non-humanoid creatures that feel more into the 'animal' categories. The alteration of the class premis annoyed her, but really it wasn't to surprising given how the rest of the 'Professors' had been teaching, given the new focus in 'Dark Arts' she supposed learning about dark creatures here wasn't the worst idea in the world... But boggarts? What were they thirteen? One Remus had already done an brilliant job in covering them - secondly if they hadn't mastered riddikulus by now they were pretty sorry wizards.
Then again, she supposed drolly, if it meant she got to see Lucius Malfoy laughing in his demonstration it might be worth it. She wasn't sure the blonde man even knew how to laugh...
