Letting out a long suffering sigh, Ginny folded her arms, jar still dangling from one hand.
"Fine," she returned dryly. "I needed a few ingredients and I needed time to find them. Happy?"

A look of frustration passed over Ginny's face at the threat, having no doubt the tosser would make good on it. Snape, the slimy murdering backstabber... Her heart ached a little at the mere thought of him, recalling all to well the amount of times she had seen him in Grimmuld place, coming and going like he belonged there, like he was one of them... If he found out she'd be tossed to the Carrows without thought and she wouldn't get away with ANY of this stuff.
"Do you always have to be such a complete prat?" she snapped back at him irritably, reluctantly letting her hand slide from behind her back to reveal the jar of hearts, glad the rest of her gathering was hidden in her robes. "I need the ingredient, and somehow I don't see me getting leave to waltz off down to Hogsmede to buy my own."

"Hope what is what they wanted to here?" Ginny inquired despite herself, gaze a mix of curiosity and suspicion as she eyed the brunette, having caught the conversation the other had with her owl as she stood quietly petting Pigwidgeon.

Ginny arched an eyebrow back at him.
"And I suppose you had no intention of stealing yourself, thats why your here when you know the classroom would be empty and without Slughorne to give you whatever it is your looking for himself," she accused back dryly, unwilling to simply cave and give him all the power. He'd like that far to much. Though how she *was* going to get out of here without some kind of altercation with Malfoy she had no idea. Damn her luck - she should have been checking the map constantly, instead of trying to hurry though the ingredient collection so she could get out.

Ginny turned at the sound of the door, mouth tugging down as she saw one of the older Slytherin's stepping into the room. Fantastic, just what she needed, another heckling session.

Stretching up, Ginny just was closing her hand around a jar of pickled bats hearts when she was startled by the sound of the door opening. Jerking around, the girl instinctively dropped the hand holding the jar to fall behind her back, wide innocent eyes turning to land on... Malfoy...?
"What are you doing?" she countered, the innocent act melting away at the sight of the blonde, knowing he wouldn't buy it anyway, brows instead tugging down in a frown, as she covered her racing thoughts, forcing herself to appear calm and confident.

Ginny entered the owlery, hands in pockets as she slowly made her way over to the perches, one familiar small owl letting out a delighted hoot and flying to spin around her head in happiness at her presence.
A small smile passed over her lips as she reached up to catch the animal and give him a few pets before firmly depositing him back on the perch.
"Hey Pig," she murmured affectionately, glad that *someone* at least was happy to see her, Ron having left the bird in her care as he went off Horcrux hunting. "Sorry no mail today, just some treats," she informed the wittering bird as she offered him a small owl treat from her pocket. Unsurprisingly she was not on the 'approved' list for sending mail, but she could at least come to check on the bird. Besides, honestly the unconditional love was a nice change right now.

Ginny moved silently into the room, the marauders map shoved into her pocket to allow her to open the door. She'd been monitoring the dungeons for some time, waiting her chance (not for the first time she was grateful Harry had seen fit to leave her and Neville his map to help them this year). At last she'd managed to hit it when the coast was clear, allowing her to make it to the dungeon stores without being seen or questioned.
They needed the supplies. The Carrows had not waisted any time in starting their regime of cruelty, the first year Gryffindors getting the brunt of it, and Pomfrey banned from treating them for any of the effects. That left it to the older years to do what they could. And that meant brewing healing potions - a number of whom required ingredients not typically kept in a student's supplies. Neville had already managed to get necessary herbology parts from sprout thankfully, cutting down the number of things they needed to steal outright, but not eliminating the need altogether. Ginny had volunteered to be the one to go and get it - she was fast, used to sneaking around thanks to her brothers, and honestly, part of her still felt the need to prove herself to the rest of the house.
Padding over to the store cupboard, the witch carefully flicked her wand briefly to search for any wards before sliding the door open, confident that Slughorne was to lazy for anything fancy to catch them out. Slipping in she closed the door behind her, lighting her wand to help her see as she carefully started searching for the ingredients she had memories, shrinking and carefully placing any she found into the deep inner pockets of her robes that she had fashioned for this purpose. She doubted after all this excusion would be her last.

"Really, you want to talk about the two boyfriends I had last year compaired to your... what?" she scoffed back, shooting the gobby brunette a scaithing look. "Twenty? No wait... that would imply they actually liked you enough to date. Don't judge me by your tarty standards Parkinson, some of us actually have morals."
"Again, morals, I know they're an alien concept to you," Ginny retorted, shooting her a disgusted look. "And really I don't need to know who else's arse you're kissing. I'm sure the new professors all love it though."

"I'm afraid if I stay near you to long loose morals might be catching," Ginny deadpanned back before huffing out a breath and physically pushing past the Slytherin, in no mood for the usual sparring that came from any encounter wth the snake house these days. "Shouldn't you be off somewhere kissing Malfoy's arse?"

Ginny was still storming mad after her encounter with Draco-the-prat-Malfoy, aching to have her broom so that she could fly off her ire, but under new school rules only the select few were still permitted the luxury. Naturally no Grffindor made the cut, and her least of all. With little other alternative, she settled for an angry stalk around the pitch, dimly hoping the familiar settings she associated with fun would help soothe her temper.
What did that git even know to begin with? He was a murderer and a pathetic puppet. He knew nothing about her and Harry... Mouth pulling down she kicked a stone moodilly.
So absorbed was she in her wallowing she almost didn't notice the other girl until they were practically face to face, head jerking up at the last moment, her eyes settling on the older girl as she slowed to a halt.
"Parkinson," she greeted her, tone less than enthusiastic as she eyed Malfoy's pet slag.

His shove sent her back a step, just regaining her balance on time to avoid a more graceless recovery - something that she could thank on years of Quidditch - her hand instantly moving away as he released her.
"Your pathetic because you don't give a crap about anyone or anything but yourself," she countered in disgust, torn between frustration and vague embarrasment at her hit not landing home, neither of which helped her temper. "Because after everything you've done you still don't even feel a modicum of guilt - you're rotton to the core."
Turning on her heel she made to stalk off, pausing only as his last words left his lips.
"At least I have friends to support me. Who have you got?" she tossed back before marching away, not waiting for the answer lest she do something stupid like hex the git. She meant what she said about not backing down or playing along with Death Eaters just for an easier life, and honestly she was *itching* to lift her wand to him - bloody wanker, actually compairing her to HIM of all people! And like he knew the first thing about what was really going on with Harry. He really WAS pathetic, pathetic, stuck up, prattish git who didn't care that he'd got blood on his hands. Harry might have told her that Draco didn't cast the spell, but that didn't make it any less his fault. HE let the Death Eaters into school, HE was the one supposed to kill Dumbledore. As far as she was concerned everyone that was hurt as a consquence had the blame laid squarely at his door. She despised him.
Still, fortunately the more rational part of her mind that spoke through the fires of her temper pointed out that starting a duel for no reason other than he was an evil remorseless prat was stupid. Even if she won it - and reluctant as she was to admit it, Malfoy knew his way around a wand - there would be nasty repercussions for attacking a precious Slytherin/baby death eater. There was standing up for your beliefs and there was causing trouble. Her friends were counting on her now... she couldn't just do whatever she felt like any more. And didn't that annoy her all the more.
Maybe she'd find a way to slip him a laxative potion in vengence and as a tribute to her brothers...

"You're pathetic," she hissed back, eyes burning, jaw clenched as he twisted her wrist away, pain lacing up from the awkward angle and his tight grip, but refusing to let him see. "It's no wonder the whole school hates you - I'd ask whats it like to have even your own housemates avoiding you, but honestly I don't want to listen to your slimy voice any longer."
"Let go of me," Ginny demanded, arm giving a tug from his, though her eyes remained locked hatefully on his face.

"If that's all you can come up with, you're either deliberately blind or completely clueless about the reality of the last six years," she retorted, voice vaguely incredulous.
At his next words however a flicker of pain passed over her face, the cruelly spoken words worming past her hard defense to burrow into her, praying on her own secret fears and hurts, though it was quickly followed with a sharp flare of her infamous Weasley temper.
Her hand lashed out without warning or even really considering her actions, aiming to slap hard against his cheek.

"He's not my boyfriend."
The words slipped out before she could screen them, furstration at the blonde prat constantly referring to Harry as her other half driving her insane and biting at a still raw wound.
Stopping before she could go on, before she tried to explain or justify herself to Malfoy of all people, the redhead bit back the rest of her words on the topic, lips thinning a moment as she turned her head to shoot him a scaithing look.
"You want to resign yourself, to hide up library isles and cry over how tragic your life is, go ahead, but while you're lying down and taking it, I refuse too. War doesn't go away because its inconvenient, Malfoy, and ignoring it wont save your sorry hide. And if Harry taught me anything? It's to never stop fighting. He's won against him before, he'll do it again."

"Is that your plan?" the redhead snapped in retaliation, anger mounting with the boy. "Keep your head down and hope for the best? Tough luck to anyone that messes up? Bollocks to that! I'm not about to pretend to be some sicchophantic supporter of Voldemort for an easy life, and I'm not about to just pretend I don't see things how they are."
"You're right," she added as she turned from him, ready to leave the isle arms tightening around her books. "I probably wont survive this war, but at least I wont sell my soul for it."

"I bet you like the thought of that," Ginny accused, face hardening as she steped a little closer, firey eyes accusing as they pinned him down, pretending to ignore the comment about Harry and Hermione. Harry wasn't her boyfriend any more... she knew why he had left her and it had nothing to do with Monie. She supported him in that... But it didn't stop that little niggling feeling of hurt, the one that whispered to her how extreme circumstances often developed feelings that weren't there before... "What they'll do to us - every student that they don't like or dares to talk back?"
Her eyes flickered over his face, scrutising him closely, clearly unimpressed with what she was seeing.
"Do you even give the tiniest bit of a damn, that thanks to you people you've known for seven years, innocent kids are going to be made Death Eater sport?" she asked him, voice low and fierce. "Do you even care that the one person that could have kept us safe is dead?"

Her head tilted back as she glared up at the taller boy.
"Harry's doing what he needs too, to win this war," she informed him cooly. "Just because he's not dumb enough to play the Dark Lord's games doesn't mean he's turned his back on us. I'd have thought that picking your battles was a setiment that a Slytherin could actually grasp."
"There's a difference between being inbred and a pureblood," Ginny shot back, letting out a scoff as she shook her head. "I know it's hard to understand nuances with your head up your arse, so I'll make it easy for you. Both of us might be purebloods, but only you are an inbred git."

"I'm not the one hiding out behind a bookshelf, Malfoy," she shot back, temper flaring at the mere sight of his typical arsy-ness. "Whats the matter, ferret - not excited to be hanging out with all your new Death Eater mates?"
At the unsurprisingly juvenille taunt, the girl glanced down at the books in her arms before shoot him a scaithing look.
"Just becuase your "friends" are to inbred to read, doesn't mean the rest of us can't, surprisingly enough, some of us actually use Librarys as places to find books, not just to snog and cry in," Ginny retorted, shaking her head. "A novel concept for you I'm sure."

Frowning, the redhead moved slowly deeper into the library, heading towards the far corner as she searched for the books she wanted, a few already held in her arms. While she wasn't a bad student by far, she had always been more of an instinctive witch than a learned one, following gut feelings and what felt right rather than hard facts and a careful detailed plan. With Death Eaters crawling over the school however, she couldn't afford to be complacent any longer however. She needed to up her game, and for that, she needed more knowledge.
The things she was checking out were carefully chosen to appear innoculous while still helping her hone the skills she needed - a few history books to look at guirrilla tactics, a few defence and charm books to polish up her dueling skills. Now she just needed to see if she could find anything that could help her protect her mind from Snape... She knew about Occulmency from Harry, but not how to do it (given he had never figured it out, that was unsurprising). She didn't really have much hope of discovering a book on occulmency here really, but perhaps if she was lucky she could find *something* that could help...
So engrosed in her search was she that it took her a few long minutes to realise the isle she had turned up a) lead to a dead end, and b) had someone else in it.
Head snapping up, Ginny stilled at the sight of a familiar and hated face, eyes narrowing suspiciously as she took in his posture, her red lips tugging down stubbornly.
Malfoy.
"What are you doing?" she asked him, voice cool as her brown eyes flickered over his haunched, defensive posture.

Ginny stepped into the Library, well aware of the eyes that followed her around the room - Harry Potter's girlfriend, or was it ex girlfriend? No one seemed certain, but neither won her much in this current climate, Slytherins and Death Eaters waiting for any chance to trip her up, their intent entirely clear on their faces as they watched. Still she walked with her head held high in defiance, ignoring those around her as she moved to browse the shelves for the texts she needed, inwardly ready for trouble.

Letting out a long breath, Ginny moved to slump in one of the squishy armchairs by the fire, her bag falling carelessly to the ground next to her as she rubbed her face. Death Eaters, in Hogwarts of all places... it made her skin crawl.
"Could really use a hero right now Harry," she murmured to herself, delicate, pale hand dropping back to her side as she let her out breath and closed her eyes. No... Harry wouldn't be coming to save her this time. He had more important battles to fight, she knew that. This time she was on her own... well, not on her own. She still had Neville and the DA, but for the first time she understood what Harry meant about the burdens of being looked to for answers she didn't have.
Jaw clenching the redhead allowed her eyes to slide open again as her head lifted, that same stubborn core that was so obvious in her brothers giving her strength to push away that pathetic feeling of helplessness. There wasn't going to be anyone flying in on a phoenix to battle the monsters and carry her away to safety this time. If she wanted to be saved, she had to be the one to fight. For her, and everyone else in this damn school.

Term time rules
1) Be respectful when RPing – this is a general rule but worth repeating. Your character is free to be as unpleasant as you like but you cannot force anyone into a storyline with you and we expect you as yourself to always be respectful to those that choose to 2) Don’t take anything that happens in RP too seriously. Some characters are highly unpleasant as their nature – canon examples are Bellatrix, Lucius, etc. Don’t expect these characters to suddenly be nice to you simply because you would like them to and please don’t take offence if they are unpleasant. This is simply them being played IC (in character). This also goes for any OC (original character) character out there with similar personalities. If you are unhappy with how a character is being played for any reason please contact the RPer first and try to work it out with them yourself, only then if you feel that their behaviour is unjustified will a staffer get involved. 3) Anyone playing a canon we ask you to keep these as IC as possible – some minor characters have little actually known about them, feel free to interpret these as you will, likewise we actively encourage people to flesh out and develop any character to make it their own, however there is a difference between developing and rewriting a character. For example, giving Lucius motivation for his general behaviour is developing, making him suddenly nice and pro-muggle is rewriting. We ask that all canons be played as true to their known personalities as possible, though there are a few specified characters that we will be stricter with, largely because they are not easy to RP. If you wish to rewrite a character we suggest creating an OC whom you can alter as you wish. 4) OC powers– For OC’s we ask you be reasonable. If a student you may pick one speciality to excel in or you may be someone like Hermione whom is good at everything (barring the physical) but cannot best anyone that excels at it. We are aware that there are a few canons that were better than this but they are the exceptions not the rule. Adults have more scope with what they can do and specialise in, however again please don’t excel in more than two areas. You may be good at other things, just not the best and try to balance your character accordingly – everyone has strengths and weaknesses, even Hermione! Anyone wishing a special ability such as metamorphmagus/ seer/ etc must put this information in their character application and will get this INSTEAD of a specialty, we also reserve the right to refuse any special ability if we have reason (e.g. to strong/unlikely) 5) Canons – please stick to your canon abilities. If these are largely unknown please apply the same rules as OC’s. Those of you have specialised abilities please do not abuse, yes your character can do this, but don’t have them do it all the time or it can ruin RP for everyone. E.g. Snape is an accomplished Legilimens in the books however he does not go around reading minds at the drop of a hat and does not know everything that has been said (indeed he is quoted describing Legilimency as a complicated and inexact art). Likewise Tonks can change her appearance but there is no evidence she can take on the full form of an animal therefore please avoid this. 6) Drinking – please be aware students are not allowed to drink. Any student caught drinking will be in serious trouble. Adults may drink responsibly i.e. away from children in their own time and we ask that you do not RP them as getting drunk. 7) Unforgivable and dark magic – Dark magic and Crucios are permitted with this term, but please be respectful. If your RP is upsetting someone or they really do not wish to be involved in that then do not make them, it is best to always check ahead with your RP partners to see if they are fine with your plot. Likewise when RPing a duel or fight, it is always best to agree beforehand whom will win as few people are keen to loose when it comes down to it. If at a stale mate the best idea is to arrange for someone to interrupt. Imperios and Avada kedavras are not permitted without staff permission. 8) Be sensible in what you do – students cannot simply skip classes willy nilly (though you don’t have to RP these, just do not have them declaring that they are constantly skipping) without ramifications and with death eaters as Professors these will be nasty. Likewise teachers cannot simply not turn up to teach – even the death eaters would not get away with that. Voldemort has put them there to do a job, they need to actually do it (though again you do not need to RP it if you don’t want) 9) Drugs – please refrain from RPing any drug taking 10) Sex and sexual reference – as with the main site rules, you may refer lightly to this, but please keep it to a pg13 standard 11) Complex storylines – if you have a complicated or dark storyline then please check with staff for permission, some topics will not be allowed because of rating and consequences e.g. rape, pregnancy, sexual abuse, RP’d character death 12) Only one major canon will be allowed per person. This is to give different people a chance to RP someone popular. Minor canons may however be chosen as a second (or of course an OC). If you have your heart set on a second major canon you may register your interest, if after a fair period of time this canon has not been claimed or if it later becomes free and no one with no major canon of their own wants it then we will happily consider bending this rule. 13) Canon characters not on the sign up list - if the character would naturally be at Hogwarts during this time (such as another student or teacher we have not included) then you may take it. Other characters that would not naturally be in Hogwarts at this time you can apply for and we will consider if you can come up with a plausable reason why they would be there, however there is no guarantee you will get them. Characters that are certainly not involved at this point e.g. Voldemort and the Golden Trio, we will not be allowing to be RP'd at this time to remain in keeping with canon. These characters may appear at a later date for plot purposes, however it will be in the short term only and so will be RP'd as and when necessary by staff. 14) Relatives of canon characters - Original characters are just that, some allowance will be made for acceptable connections. For example most purebloods are related on some level, so saying that you are a distant cousin of a canon family is fine, as is referring to relations of minor characters whom we know little about (giving Cho Chang a little sister say) however extra children/brothers/sisters/immediate cousins of the major characters will not be allowed as their backgrounds are very well known. If you have a question about this or feel that you deserve an allowance please contact a staff member to discuss Please sign below to indicate you have read and acknowledged these rules

This thread is for those wishing to post an ad on our site. Please state whether we have advertised on yours before or if you are posting on ours first. Ad's will only be allowed for RP/fandom or RP/fandom support sites and will only be accepted if we can advertise in turn on your site. Please no more than 1 add per month for your site. Our Ad (feel free to pass it about): Dark times stretch over Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Voldemort is in power, lording over the country with an iron fist, his prejudices and hatred turned into law to discriminate against those with muggle blood. Harry Potter and the rest of the golden trio are missing and currently the three most wanted people in the country. All is not lost however, resistance and the will to fight still burns strong. Join Ginny, Neville and those left behind in Hogwarts as they struggle to keep the school from falling to the traitor Snape and his Death Eater entourage, sent by the Dark Lord to keep the next generations of witches and wizards cowed and submissive. Come and help write the chapters of the war lost from the books. Which side will you choose? Play as Professors or students, canon characters of both sides available and OC's welcome! Our site is aimed at everyone from beginner to advanced RPers and is an active friendly place to meet and celebrate the Harry Potter fandom. Site plots are changed regularly to keep things fresh and interesting, with member participation fully encouraged.
