Care of Magical Creatures is an elective course at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that can be taken by students Third year and above. In the class, students learn about a wide range of magical creatures, from flobberworms to Fire crabs, and even unicorns and thestrals. Students are taught about feeding, maintaining, breeding, and proper treatment of these various creatures. The witches and wizards who succeeded in achieving an O. W. L. in the subject later could become Magizoologists. (Harry Potter wikia)
Set on the rolling green school grounds just before the Grounds Keeper's hut, with the Forbidden Forest behind, there is no telling what the newest curriculum will cover in this subject... That it seems is up to the latest, and rather unexpected teacher...

Millicent strolled towards the hut where class was to be held. She had a slight smirk on her face in anticipation of the impending instruction which their newest teacher would provide. It made her feel more than a little excited.
Reaching the area but finding out that she was the first arrive, the girl simply sat upon the grass and tilted her head as she waited, ankles crossed and hair blown about by the wind.

Ginny wandered towards the usual meeting place for the CoMC class, hands in her pockets. Her steps were lazy as she made her way down, in no hurry whatsoever - firstly she was early anyway, but more importantly as of yet there had been no sign of anyone taking over this class. Honestly she half wondered if it had just been forgotten to be taken off the curriculum.
Pausing as she arrived, the redhead was dismayed to note that she wasn't alone, Millicent Bulstrode of all the girls sitting waiting for their teacher to arrive (or not as the case may be).
Joy....
Well she supposed it was better than Parkinson.

At the sound of someone approaching, Millicent tilted her head back, eyes scrutinizing the familiar redhead as her steps faltered, a slight look of annoyance on her face. The Slytherin smirked in greeting, "Well, well," her smirk widened, "hello there, baby Weasel."

Damn it all...
Lucius carried himself in his usual saunter, allowing the scowl on his practiced expression as he made his way across the grounds. Out of all the classes he could have possibly been sent to manage, this was easily the most demeaning. It was bad enough the Dark Lord had been making backhanded threats against his family and sending Draco on that suicide mission, but now, at every turn, every chance he got, he felt the unfailing need to completely humiliate the man as he did it. That madman... Taking over his Manor, laying claim to it as though anything he wanted was his for the taking. That damn half-blood...
He really was something of a vindictive little piece of sh!t.
As he neared that miserable oaf's hut, he forced an expressionless demeanor, and his silver eyes fell upon the two girls, who were actually relatively early. Placing the first in an instant, from that distinctive red hair, her early arrival was nothing if not expected. After all, she had been a favorite of that worthless Gamekeeper's--well, her brother, anyway. And the second, he recognized as the Bulstrodes' daughter, a friend of his son's. Her earliness was not quite as expected.
He came to an easy stop beside the two, his silver eyes drifting to each as he addressed them, drawling, "Miss Weasley." Offering the other a slight inclination of his head, "Miss Millicent. So eager for today's lesson, are you?"

"Really...?" Ginny returned dryly crossing her arms as she eyed the other girl. "*You* want to start with animal pet names for each other...?"
Milcent was well known for looking like a bulldog after all - fitting really, the bulldog to Parkinson's pug.
Before the conversation could continue further however, the arrival of a new face distracted them both, Ginny's head turning at the comment of her name, eyes blinking in surprise at the presence of none other than Lucius Malfoy.
"Simply curious as to who our teacher is going to be," she offered at last, face closed off as she eyed him suspiciously, wondering what the hell he wanted. Sure she had seen him creeping around the grounds a lot lately on the map, so spotting him was not altogether unexpected, but why he had approached them was a mystery to her. Even Bulstrode for all she seemed slightly more enthused didn't seem to have a clue there. Briefly the mad thought that *somehow* he had found out about her... encounters with his son and was here to crucio her or something but she dismissed that as quickly as it came. That was ridiculous, apart from Draco telling him there was no way he COULD know, and the blonde would likely rather AK himself than that.

Putting off Ginny's jab for the time being, Millicent hopped up instantly at Lucius Malfoy's arrival. Glancing towards the redhead, she saw the wariness in her gaze and smirked to herself. She was definitely more than a little uneasy.
"Such a temper," she whispered in passing to the other girl before making her way towards Draco's father and tilting her head as she gazed up at him.
"Good morning, Mr. Malfoy," she purred. "Don't tell me you're going to be our new teacher for this class?"
She'd heard a few rumors from some of her classmates who happened to be eavesdropping in the library when the man had supposedly informed Draco himself. She was delighted to find that it was true.

Now THAT got her attention, Ginny's head snapping round to frown at the girl next to her before her eyes shifted back to the blonde man.
Oh HELL no...
Lucius Malfoy as a teacher?! As THIS teacher?!
...But CoMC was a joke to most purebloods wasn't it? How pissed off WAS Voldemort with him? After all there was no way other than a direct order that she could see to get Lucius Malfoy to agree to something he would consider this demeaning.
Well there went *another* of her favourite classes. Seriously, Charms and Herbology were all she had left now, and frankly she wasn't that fussed about herbology except for the fact that Sprout ran it so it still held a modicum of sense.

Millicent cast a glance back to see the horrified expression on Ginny's face. It was hilarious! She smirked widely before returning her attention to the Malfoy before her.
"Of course, Mr. Malfoy," the girl winked. "I keep to myself when at all possible. Gossip is just sooo beneath me."

Lucius caught the young Weasley's expression from his peripheral, not missing for an instant the questioning in her eyes laced beneath the immediate horror. He easily ignored it, however, his countenance unchanged as he replied to Millicent with a slight smirk, "Oh, undoubtedly so. A young lady your age, and of your disposition? Engage in gossip? I would be shocked."

Ginny schooled her expression back in as she watched the exchange, though honestly her mind was whirling. She didn't trust Malfoy one whit... her newly discovered fondness for his son did not extend to him at all. Yes... she supposed that as much of a evil prat as he was he was *probably* going to be marginally better than the Carrows at least, by the very merit that he is at least mostly sane, but he was still the vindictive git that had gifted her with a years worth of adolescent Dark Lord to live in her head. That wasn't something you just forgave or got over. And that didn't touch on the Draco factor... what was he going to think about having his old man here to hang over his shoulder? Would it make his hassle from the Carrows better? Worse? Would it change how he acted? Would it put him off this weird thing they had going on between them..?

"While that's true, there's nothing necessarily wrong with striving to be the best version of yourself, just for you," Lucius informed the girl simply. "However, considering you wouldn't be giving it your full investment, seeing as how you don't actually want to change your habits, the probability of your success is greatly hindered."

Draco made his way towards COMC, it was an odd feeling- the childish part of him looking forward to it, while the rest of him... yeah, not so much. His steps faltered at seeing Weasley about- just perfect. Okay, he knew how to play this part and she knew he had to do it. So there was nothing to act odd about, they did it everyday- just because it was his Father didn't make it any different.
The blond slowly made his way over, his expression impassive as he allowed his Father to be distracted by Millicent.

Caden walked briskly across the grounds toward the old Gamekeeper's hut. The outdoorsy feel of this class was always a pleasant relief from the castle, which could get a little stuffy sometimes. As he came to the place where the others were gathered, he glanced between the new professor, who he recognized immediately, and the Malfoy heir. So, Draco's father would be teaching this class. So many Death Eater's...but hey, at least this one wasn't completely off his rocker.
"Hey there, Miss Milly," he greeted the girl with a simple wave and a grin.

Leanna walked easily across the grass, running her fingers through her mess of hair, trying to get it a little more respectable than it was. She gave up and pulled her hair over one shoulder, plaiting the red length quickly and tying it off with the hairband on her wrist. The braid hung over her shoulder, catching the sunlight in the more golden threads as she moved. Her freckles across her nose were darker that morning and she rubbed idly at the side of her nose, almost as if trying to rub them away.
She approached the rest of the class, pausing for a moment to sweep over the other students. Spotting Caden, her only housemate there at that point in time, she made her way closer to him, standing a little off to the side so it didn't seem like she was seeking him out. Once she was comfortably in place, she let herself study the man who she assumed was their professor. Her eyes jumped from Draco to Lucius, a little surprised to see the Death Eater at the school, let alone teaching a class.

Since his Father was distracted by all of the girls in the class and didn't speak Draco allowed his attention to wander, as well as his feet as he moved closer to the hut and away from the group. His gaze on some boxes that were moving, with Merlin knew what inside of them.

Ginny carefully didn't look at Draco as he arrived, ignoring him as she did the other Slytherins though she *wanted* to glance over and try to figure out what he was thinking of all this.
Letting out a sigh and noticing none of her own Housemates had made it down, the redhead made an execuative decision, moving over to join the Ravenclaws, casting a single annoyed look to Pansy at the dig at Hagrid before she turned her attention back, noticing Leanna and a boy she recognised as the one playing with fire around Alex and the she-devil Carrow.
"Hey... mind if I join you guys?" she asked offering a small, polite and slightly hopeful smile. She really did not want to be billy no mates this class... she did't want to find out what Lucius would do if she needed to pair up.
