[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"How exactly and I expecting you to act like an adult?" he asked. "I am asking you to think, if you are incapable of doing that then this entire conversation has been a waste of time."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"You should lighten up a bit and stop bringing this conversation to me," Pansy said with a dry tone of voice.
"If Professors expect students to give a damn about a spell or a potion when there's so much going on, then they are damn fools, because students, most of them, are driven by emotions and not by reason. You know this, the others know it too," she added and shook her head, cleaning her desk of her Potions parchments.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"If you are only fuled and ruled by your emotions then you are useless." Rodolphus said as he shifted to look directly at her. "I understand that the students fear me, that should make them pay more attention to what I am teaching them, not scoff and play the fool." he added his eyes locking onto hers. "I was simply stating that fear does not make one impressive. I had thought after our previous lessons you would have picked up on that, but apparently you are too emotional to actually learn anything useful from my teachings." he concluded, his tone was even and icy cold.

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Yes, apparently it looks just like that to you, Professor," she gazed back at him, ignoring the icy voice and eyes.
By the gods, if all the Death Eaters were like Lestrange and thought like him, then students were better off hiding in the Forbidden Forest. Especially the ones seeming to prepare a rebellion...
She took out her Transfiguration text book as if they hadn't even spoken to each other, put the Potions one back in her bag. Her gestures were smooth and steady but her heart was pumping in the back of her throat.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus shook his head. "You still do not understand what I am saying." he said. "You are in your seventh year here at this school, about to come of age and become an adult in our society and still wish to hide behind excuses, of emotional instability?" he asked as he stood from his desk.

"What use will you be to anyone once you leave this school, if someone invoking fear in others impresses you? What will you be able to offer to society, do you simply wish to be a trophy, to be something that has so little use that it is simply displayed and ignored? Or would you prefer to actually mean something, to actually have a purpose?"

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Professor you misunderstood me," she sighed deeply, gazing at him as he stood. Should she be straight forward and tell him what she thought of those Death Eaters getting the fear in the bones of everyone around? Was he to be trusted?
"As for what I want my future to be, it has absolutely no importance as my parents will marry me off as soon as I graduate. It will be up to me afterwards to try and be my own person, but I will still be trapped by that marriage," she said.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Do explain how I misunderstand you." Rodolphus ordered, choosing at the moment to ignore her comment about her future.

[Pansy Parkinson]

"The students ... my classmates don't find that people who invoke fear are impressive," she said in a low voice. "They find them... mean for no reason, heartless beasts incapable to teach anyone anything because they are too busy throwing curses around. And you are right about something: instead of learning, most of them make that fear cloud their judgement," she shrugged.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"You contradict yourself now." Rodolphus stated. "Earlier you equated fear and impressiveness, or were you simply acting like a child to annoy me?"

[Pansy Parkinson]

"One is not always impressed in a good way. Plus you are the annoying one... Sir," Pansy snapped and shook her head.
"I know how Death Eaters are. And maybe you are an exception because you actually try your best to teach us useful things," she said in a low voice, trying to cobtrol her anger.
She didn't like discussing this, she didn't want to... Yet somehow Lestrange always made her talk.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Watch your tone." Rodolphus said his voice clear he would not be spoken to like that again. "Impressed as a word tends to mean good things, you obviously meant something completely different." He said with a shake of his head.

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Sorry Professor," she replied, gazing at the man. So, he was keeping his end of the bargain...
"I should have been more specific," she added.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus shook his head. "You have a tendency to speak without thought." He said. "Mostly if you get riled up, you need to work on that."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"True, it gets me in a lot of trouble," the teenager mused.
"Do you think... you could teach me?" she inquired.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"There is only so much you can be taught." Rodolphus replied. "Controlling ones emotions is a very personal task, it is something that needs to be learned on your own, well for the most part. I can help you meditate, from there you are on your own."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"It is a start," Pansy commented quietly.
"I probably should learn to keep calm in the first place," she added.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Do you know anything about meditation?" Rodolphus asked.

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Never tried it, Sir," she shrugged. "I know one is supposed to sit in a quiet place and calm through breathing," she added.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"A quiet place is good to start, but you should be able to calm and control yourself in any situation." he said. "The technique I use is focusing on and image, letting that image envelop me, and thinking only of that. I choose to use a flame for my image."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Hmmm... how odd. I find flames to be very relaxing, especially in the fireplace of the Great Hall," she mused.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"My method does not work for everyone." Rodolphus stated. "But if you already find it relaxing i would suggest giving it a try. Just let the flame consume your thoughts."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"It sounds so easy when you say it, Professor," she mused while gazing at her desk.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"It will not be easy." Rodolphus said with a shrug. "It may sound like it is, but clearing your mind and controlling your emotions is one of the more difficult things to accomplish."

[Pansy Parkinson]

She chuckled, a bit dryly.
"You have no idea," she shook her head.
"Anyway... seems like my classmates have lost their way."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus nodded. "It seems that most have decided that my class is not for them, at least in your year."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"You mean we have a choice about the class we can take?" she laughed.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Oh no." Rodolphus replied. "They will learn the error of their ways quickly." he added and tilted his head to the side in thought. "It should probably be public too."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Well, I guess we'll have an interesting dinner tonight," Pansy mused softly and sighed.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"If that is what you wish to call it." Rodolphus said with a shrug. "They should realize by now that it is not a good time to be a rebel."

[Pansy Parkinson]

"Hmmmm... perhaps," she nodded and gazed at her Professor.
