Transfiguration Classroom

Theo glanced up once again as other students entered the class room. He was curious as to what their reaction to the assignment was going to be.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus watched as the students continued to enter the room. He was certainly going to enjoy 'teaching' them the wonders of transfiguration.

[Caden McGinnis]

"Hey there, Miss Milly," Caden replied to the Slytherin when she joined him, before glancing over at Alex. "We're gonna be turning some mice blood into water and acid." He stood up to go collect the mice, and then returned to his seat.

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco sat down his two mice and eyed them, wondering how the hell they were supposed to be doing this when they hadn't been taught it. He looked around for some type of board that indicated the spells, their tones and any wand motions needed...

[Theo Nott]

Theo glanced over at Draco, when he noticed him looking around. "Use the basic liquid transfiguration for the water." he told the blonde. "The acid requires a bit more digging." he added quietly and indicated the textbook.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus eyed the class waiting. After a few moments he cleared his throat to gather the classes attention. "My name is Professor Lestrange." he said once he had their attention. "I know that most of you heard the assignment." he added and trained his wand on one of the remaining cages.

Summoning the cage he selected one of the mice. "Turning blood to water is fairly simple, so I will not go over that, you all should know it by now anyways." he told them. "As for the acid, it all depends on which type you wish to use, that will change the final motion of your wand."

Twisting his wand around clockwise twice flicking it up and adding a small jab down to the right, he said nothing. The mouse he had been holding by the tail twitched, squeaked and slowly began to bubble and burn from the inside, until is was a small puddle on the desk, that began eating away at the wood. "Any questions?" he asked his eyes filled with dark amusement, at what the reactions to that display were going to be.

[Caden McGinnis]

Caden's brow rose a fraction as he watched the display. It was immediately clear that this Lestrange fellow was just as sadistic as those Carrows. And yet...the way he was so much more silent about it, with this twisted look in his eye...it just somehow made it seem all the more unnerving. They were loose cannons, for sure, but someone with control like him...it wasn't hysterical, or whimsical, it was calculated. Definitely seemed more terrifying, and even less forgivable.

Theo watched Rodolphus cast the transfiguration. The man mad it look easy. He concentrated on following the wand movements but Lestrange did them so quickly they were hard to see.

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco looked at the mouse puddled and once again sighed at the pointless sadistic stupidity of the content of his classes. He looked back at the mice, personally he felt the one being turned into acid had it better as it died quicker, the one with water for blood would surely suffer more and longer...

[Leanna Barker]

Leanna slipped into the class, her head down until she had gathered her mice and gotten to her seat. She held them in a light grip, just enough that they couldn't wriggle away and jabbed at one with her wand. This was sad. She set up a little containment spell so the mice couldn't run away and mused over how to change their blood, one into acid and the other into water.

[Ginny Weasley]

Glad to have a crowd now to loose her presence in, Ginny continued to play with her mice, idly casting a light tickling charm over them as she 'bungled' another attempt at the spell, her lips twitching slightly as her mice started wriggling at the sensation - infinitely more pleasurable than most of the other wriggling mice, but then again, who here was well read enough in rodent body language to tell the difference.

As she did so her mind idly went over what she would actually have needed to do for the assignment - she might refuse on principle to torture anything for the sake of a class, however that didn't mean her mind didn't appreciate the skill required in the transformations.

She personally would start in the heart... it would localise the spell and bring the blood to her to transform rather than having to focus on all the tiny little veins and arteries. It would need changing on the cellular level - tricky but not above most advanced transfig. Likewise turning organic into inorganic wasn't to hard - the real trick was containing the spell to just the blood; an exercise in rather extreme control. If it hadn't been so barbaric, McGonigall likely would have approved.

No, the Gryffindor decided, continuing to tickle her mice. The heart was the way to do it - you could narrow your focus to capture the bloodflow as it came through the main vein from the body, changing it there and letting it pump around. Eventually you'd get all the blood as it had to complete its cycle back into the heart for more oxygen.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Looking around the room Rodolphus watched his students. Noting a few paying attention to him, but most turning back to their work. His eyes taking in the wand movements of the students, he raised an eyebrow at some and smiled at others. When his eyes came to rest on Weasley, his smile turned into curiosity.

She had been casting regularly at the mice, but nothing visible was happening, and her attitude was rather poor. "Miss Weasley, show me your Transfiguration skills." he told her. "Water first."

[Ginny Weasley]

Damn it all...

Ginny shot the man an unimpressed look.

"I haven't mastered it yet Professor, I'm sorry," she offered dryly, curbing her tongue from saying more.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Then make the attempt." he told her with an arched eyebrow. "I will not allow that as an excuse for under performing."

[Alexander Chevalier]

Alex stood and grabbed his mice before reclaiming his seat beside Caden and considering the task before him. It would be best to detach himself from the situation, considering the cruelty of it. He looked to the two creatures before him before glancing in Ginny's direction as she argued with Lestrange.

[Ginny Weasley]

"As I said before Professor, I simply don't have talent in this class," she returned stubbornly, though she dutifully lifted the first mouse by its tail and 'attempted the spell'. The mouse considered a moment before sneezing out some water, but was otherwise unharmed.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus studied Ginny for a few moments. "That really shouldn't surprise me." he told her. "Your family hasn't put out anything of worth in a long time. If you plan to make it through this class you will perfect that spell." he told her. "It will end poorly for you if you do not." he concluded his tone held a sinister quality.

[Alexander Chevalier]

Alex glared at the man, grateful that his head was turned away from him at the moment. He was threatening Ginny now. It was becoming a regular occurrence for her actually. These Death Eaters just couldn't help themselves, it seemed. He really wished there was something he could say. He supposed, if it came down to it, he would definitely intervene on her behalf. He couldn't just sit by and watch her be tortured. It was different than the situation with Caden.

[Caden McGinnis]

Caden noticed Alex's gaze turn to Ginny, and noticed the glare he shot the Death Eater's back. He tuned into the conversation, listening to what Lestrange was saying to the Gryffindor, before a frown made its way to his expression. He quickly replaced it, however, with his usual pleasant smile and made a quick wand movement toward his mouse. Some people were bound to screw up, right? Not that odd at all. He sent an explosive spell at the mouse instead of transforming anything, and, with a loud BANG, the animal's innards went flying in all directions, splashing onto him, along with the two people who had opted to sit beside him, and he winced as it hit him. That was...pretty damn gross.

"Whoops...," he muttered, blinking down at the mess that now scattered across the desk.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

Millicent jumped in her seat with a shriek, jaw dropping and her eyes growing wide. This was a nightmare! This was the most foul, disgusting thing ever! She slowly lowered her eyes to see the carnage that was splattered on her uniform and in her hair. No way! She glared then and swiftly turned to the boy beside her before delivering a punch to his shoulder, "idiot! What the hell are you doing?!"

[Caden McGinnis]

"Sorry 'bout that," Caden turned to offer Millicent a genuinely apologetic smile. Having her in the line of fire like that was a bit unfortunate. "Here," he lifted his wand and got to work on cleaning her robes first, before moving to the table. "Guess that didn't exactly work out like I wanted," he mused.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

The girl huffed loudly before rolling her eyes and deciding to move past it. At least he had cleaned everything up. Guess that sort of compensated for the stupid stunt of his. "Whatever," she responded finally, chin tilting upward a bit.

[Caden McGinnis]

"You're not gonna forgive me?" Caden awarded the girl a mock-pout.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

Millicent sent him a sidelong glance, before shrugging, "not right away. You'll have to earn it."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Well, in that case," Caden smirked, "I'll just have to be at the top of my game from now on. Earning that'd just mean the world to me, Miss Milly."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"It'd better," Millicent smirked. "Why, it should be your number one priority."

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco just poked his mouse with his wand, for the most part looking bored with the class as a whole. When the Ravenclaw blew his mouse up, the blond rose a distainful brow but otherwise did nothing more than stifle a yawn.

[Caden McGinnis]

"Oh, I assure you, it is," Caden held his hand up to his heart, as if making a pledge.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Great," Millicent grinned before looking to her mice with a sigh. "Well, at least I know not to ask any tips from you for this assignment."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Hey, it was a fluke," Caden gave a shrug. "I might have better luck with the water, and then I can help you out and work my way back into your good graces."
