(Oh, no worries, it's all good. Entirely open for your discretion ) Lucius caught sight of the curse Alecto shot toward him, and he quickly maneuvered out of the way to avoid it, barely giving him enough time to dodge Amycus' nasty little spell. The numbers definitely weren't in his favor here. Alone, they were no match, but together...they might actually stand a chance, and that was a bit disconcerting. He turned to the side, keeping them both in view as he came to a stop beside Draco. His aim of getting that madman to lift the spell he had cast on the boy had worked like a charm, it was clear he was more interested in him at the moment, but that didn't mean he would put it past the man to try to use his son against him during the fight. It would be easier if he just kept Draco close. He bided his time, waiting for their next onslaught before moving again.

Lucius instantly shot a quick series of high-level cutting curses toward Alecto, to keep her wand busy, before taking a side-step around her and dashing toward his son, his eyes fixed on Amycus as he did so, to whom he sent a volley of blasting curses and a Cruciatus--if he chose to dodge or block, one of them would likely hit him. Either way, it should occupy him, and put Draco in the clear. He kept note of Alecto's movements from the corner of his eye.

Lucius chuckled bitterly at that. "Draco...," he shook his head, "at this point, you honestly think something like that is embarrassing? I've done a fine enough job botching things up for us all myself lately--I can't imagine anything you'd do could compete with it."

Lucius offered a slight inclination of his head in turn, as he stowed his wand away, before staring down at his son in silence a moment. He deliberated, before asking, "This isn't the first time this has happened, is it?"

Lucius racked his brain for some sort of spell to help alleviate the pain, but, of course, healing had never been his area of expertise. After a brief moment, though, one came to mind, and he drew his wand, giving it a slight spin, before casting the spell. It should offer a slight relief, anyway, enough to lessen the pain a little.

(Yeah, good call ) **REBOOT** Lucius pushed the door open, an arm around Draco as he led him into the room. He promptly shut the door behind them and then led his son over to one of the armchairs, where he carefully helped him to a sitting position.

Lucius shifted his silver stare briefly to rest on Alecto when she stepped between them, and he merely arched a single brow at her words. "Well, seeing as I'm still here for the time being, my son is my business," he drawled. "So, if you don't mind, perhaps you shouldn't be the one interfering."

"Now, now," Lucius gave a slight shake of his head as that cordial smile returned to his expression and he took a slow step toward Amycus, "there's no need for this to get violent, is there? What I'm asking is very simple--well within your capabilities, I trust."

Lucius lingered in the room a bit longer, his silver stare resting on the fireplace as he allowed his mind to wander. After a time, however, he rose to his feet and turned his back on the small room, pulling the door open and closing it gently behind him as he made his departure.

"And you," Lucius returned. "Have a good day, son."
It seemed no one was overly inclined--neither Draco nor his persecutors--to fill him in. It was becoming rather frustrating. But, he would let it rest for the time being. Eventually, the truth would out.

As Lucius watched Amycus run his tongue over Draco, he awarded the man a particularly disgusted look, before glancing back over at Alecto and drawling sarcastically, "Oh yes, clearly, that's what your brother here is doing. Just teaching Draco to perfect the Cruciatus Curse, nothing more. How dare I possibly assume otherwise. You know, the farther your tale is from the truth, the harder it is to make your lie match up with what's really happening."
Fixing his silver stare on the Carrow brother, he told him, "Now then, if you could possibly manage to rein yourself in for more than five seconds, Amycus, spare us the creep and whatever disgusting high you're getting out of all this, and just step away."

"I have no intention of joining your game, nor do I intend to allow you to involve my son any further," Lucius drawled easily. "If he requires proper instruction in how to perform such a spell, I recommend having him perform it, and preferably on a blood traitor, or perhaps even a muggle. After all, practice makes perfect, and better to use it on someone who actually deserves it--certainly not a pureblooded wizard like himself. Tormenting Draco with the curse accomplishes nothing. It teaches him nothing, and gains nothing for the Dark Lord's cause. All you can possibly seek to gain from this is your own twisted, sad little amusement. And, if that's the case, and you find yourselves simply incable of sating those urges and holding yourselves in check, I strongly suggest you find a new target."
Titling his head to one side and giving the two a pleasant, cordial sort of smile, he said in the same smooth tone, "Now...I'll say it once more. If you'd be so kind, little Carrows, step away from my son, or I'll be forced to retaliate."

Lucius drew a slow intake of breath, to calm himself, and he adopted his usual, composed demeanor. They got such a sick thrill out of any rise, these foolish maniacs. He focused his silver stare on the girl in front of him, arching a single brow at her wand movement.
It really was questionable, what she possibly thought she could do against him. These two had obviously grown quite cocky during their time at this absurd school, receiving this authority and taunting children. They were amateurs, both of them, and the Dark Lord's favoritism had obviously gone to their heads and caused them to forget all the years of experience he had above them. Whatever status they may hold within the Death Eater ranks, when it came to their magical prowess, sheer power, his transcended both of theirs.
"Step aside, little Carrow," he drawled simply, quite ignoring anything they had to say.

Lucius shot a scathing glance that woman's way, as he simultaneously sent a quick, silent expelliarmus at Amycus' wand hand. He was not in the mood to play this game with the pair of lunatics.

As he was pacing down the corridor, Lucius instantly stopped short. Reverberating off the walls, he could hear a loud scream...a familiar voice, instantly sent a wave of concern over him, a sickened feeling, and he immediately focused on the direction from which it originated. He hurried in the direction, and when he reached the bathroom door, he found it was locked. Not hesitating a moment, he whipped his wand out and blast the door off its hinges, before stepping into the bathroom.
There, he spotted them. The pair of damnable twins. Alecto, with a shield up, and Amycus, that psychotic moron, his wand pointed directly at the subject of this torment, grabbing the boy's hair, who was hunched over against the wall. His son...Draco... And he knew...knew precisely what curse he was using. He could barely contain it, the contempt he felt building up in his chest, and his grip on his wand tightened.

"He...comes and goes," Lucius returned a bit darkly, "whatever suits his fancy."
His own mind flashed to his wife when Draco mentioned her, and he could feel the concern building up once again, as it had on more than one occasion since the Dark Lord had sent him to this school. However, he was determined to think that since she was, in fact, Bellatrix's darling baby sister, and since the elder Black sister was practically floating in a sea of Voldemort's good graces, no harm would befall her. Even so...the very thought of Narcissa being left there, alone (now that Bellatrix had arrived on the grounds as well), with the Dark Lord...it was very...unsettling, to say the least.

Lucius glanced back over at Draco, catching the frown that had overtaken his features, and forcing a scowl of his own back when he saw it. "Well, I'm...certainly doing what I can," he informed the boy, his tone listless, "but...I'm not entirely convinced anything can be done at this point."

The smirk vanished in an instant, and Lucius held in the sigh he could feel wanting to escape. His own stare faltered, drifting to the side, as he could scarcely bring himself to look at his son now that he was instantly reminded how much Draco had been forced to endure because of him, because of his failures. They were in this whole mess because, following one wrong choice after another, Lucius had led them here.
He answered dryly, "Yes, you could say that. He's very...," he trailed off, searching for the word that would best convey his meaning, "displeased."

Lucius watched his son, noting the sincerity in his gaze, and he released another sigh. "I see," he gave a slight inclination of his head. He had assumed Draco was purposefully dancing around the subject, avoiding it, but it seemed he was legitimately confused. "Back on topic, then," he said, "the Carrows. Any...unpleasant encounters with them?"

(Sorry for taking so long to respond here, everybody! Haven't had a chance to get on in a bit.)
"That's what I thought," Lucius nodded in response to the answer Nott supplied.
His silver gaze wandering over the rest of the students, he gauged their reactions. Some looked intrigued, others mildly annoyed. Draco's mind seemed to be somewhere else entirely, judging by the somewhat contemplative look in his eyes. When Millicent spoke up, he arched a brow at her, guessing the direction of her thoughts based on past interactions with the girl--she could be rather nosy. In a way, though, her reaction sort of hit the mark more closely than she realized. No matter, they would all find out soon enough.
"In that case," he continued, "we'll focus on taking a bit of a closer look at those creatures. As I understand it, you learned to defend yourselves from them in Professor Lupin's class. We'll be focusing on the creatures themselves, instead. If any of you need a basic review on them, I suggest you search the library."
Now that he had an idea of which direction to take the class, he internally scolded himself for not planning it beforehand. This really was a waste of a day, seeing as he didn't have the necessary supplies for the lesson--namely, a boggart. He wondered if it would be too early to dismiss the class altogether. They hadn't been here long, true, but it was also the first day, and what was the point in keeping them here for no reason?
"Now then, what time is this class usually over?" he questioned.

Lucius simply watched the scene unfold before him in silence. Saying nothing, quite ignoring the jabs that had been made at his family upon Bellatrix's initial entrance, and maintaining the same, expressionless facade as the two witches began their usual bickering.
Well...it seemed the quartet was complete, now that Bellatrix had joined the ranks. All four crazies, in the room together...and, quite unlike he was accustomed to, he now held no sway over them, to keep a single one of them in line. They had free range. What was the world coming to? He sighed internally at the thought.
