By the Lake

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"The difference between you and Miss Bulstrode here, is that you tend to be a bit more vague in your statements." Rodolphus commented to Alecto. "Additionally, you have skill and power to make people think twice about angering you."

[Alecto Carrow]

"Vague? Moi? Never," Alecto said pleasantly, though she did not argue the power and skill aspect. Instead she produced her wand with a flick of her wrist and moved to stand close to Rodolphus "I think I'm perfectly clear with my intentions…"

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Oh of that I am certain." Rodolphus replied. "You never were one to mince words when you found something you desired."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Nothing in particular," Millicent shrugged to Theo. "Just more in general. You seem like the type of guy I would need to explain things to." She shifted her gaze to Rodolphus then, "that's what I'm trying to eventually obtain though. Skill and power so that I don't have to answer to anyone."

[Theo Nott]

Theo shrugged. "I suppose." he said, before turning to watch the two professors. He noted the intereactions between the two in some concern, and amusement, but covered it quickly. "If you will excuse me professors, I have some assignments to work on?"

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"There will always be someone stronger and more Powerful than you out there." Rodolphus replied. "You need to know when you should step back and let that person or those people pass." he informed her. "You will always have to answer to someone, in one way or another."

He turned his gaze to Theo and studied the boy for several long moments, not saying anything.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

Millicent pursed her lips a bit at what her professor said. She supposed it made sense, though she didn't really like to think about it in that way. She hated to feel controlled. "Well, I guess I'll just try my best to rise to the top."

She glanced to Theo, "have fun with that."

[Theo Nott]

"I plan on it." Theo replied before nodding to the professors and walking back towards the school.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Pushing yourself to the limits is a good way to ensure there are less people more skilled than you are." Rodolphus said. "So long as you do not over exert yourself." he added his eyes not straying from the fleeing boy. "Is he always like that?" he asked finally turning to Millicent.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

Millicent tilted her head, "like what? Difficult?" She smirked. "Yes."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus chuckled. "I mean easily intimidated." he said with a shake of his head. "He also gives into his urges quite easily, he seems to lack focus."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"He does," Millicent nodded, before pursing her lips in thought. "But, he's pretty determined. I think he can get past that someday."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"If he is to be any use he will be required to move beyond that." Rodolphus said.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Well," Millicent replied. "Maybe that'll be enough to motivate him. Guess we'll see." She bent then to grab a stone and twirled it absently in her hand. She glanced to the lake and thought of trying to skim it across the water, but hesitated because she'd always been bad at it.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Maybe." Rodolphus agreed watching her as she toyed with the stone. "What has you so preoccupied?"

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Well," Millicent pursed her lips and looked down at the stone in her hand, before looking out across the water. "I want to try skipping this stone, but I've never been any good at it." She looked to him and winced an eye as she observed him. "Do you know how?"
