By the Lake

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Well, people's perceptions are always a little off," Millicent replied before tilting her head as she walked. It was nice out here today. "And I believe intimidation can work for some. You kinda just have to gauge the personality of the individual and what tactic would work best against them for getting what you want."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"It also depends quite heavily on the type of situation you are in." Rodolphus replied, his tone taking on a slightly lecturing edge. "If you are simply looking for business, then using it to get a better deal will work, however if you are looking for a long term solution, then you had best be able to back up your threats, so that you intimidation will actually work."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"That's very true," Millicent agreed with a nod. "Situation and character. You have to be able to work with any scenario, right?"

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Understand would be a more fitting word than work." he replied. "If you understand a situation, then it isn't really work to set an even into motion."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"No?" Millicent tilted her head before refocusing her attention forward. "Huh. I guess that makes sense." She then glanced to the man beside her, "so, what was it you were thinking about on your walk? If you don't mind me asking?"

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus studied her for a minute before answering. "Several things." he said. "Mostly about what needs to be accomplished while I am here."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Hm..." Millicent replied. "Like what?" She ran a hand through her hair as the breeze tousled it. This sort of weather reminded her of the beach. That would sure be nice right now.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Educating those who have the proper mentality and drive." Rodolphus replied. "Let's leave it at that, shall we?" he asked his voice holding a slightly dangerous edge to it as a warning not to press forward with that line of questioning.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Okay," Millicent nodded before glancing back to him. Couldn't push him too far, after all. It was time to switch topics. "So...how're you liking your new teaching position? It's a new experience for you, right?"

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"It is unique." Rodolphus replied. "It is not something I would have thought I enjoyed." he admitted. "However, the reactions on some of the student's faces when I give them their assignments amuses me greatly."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Like with those rats, you mean?" Millicent asked. "You really challenged us with that one."

[Theo Nott]

Theo stood and started to walk around the lake. Passing by Rodolphus and Millicent he paused at her question interested in the man's reply.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Yes." Rodolphus replied. "That assignment showed me who had the skill and ability to spend time teaching."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Got it," Millicent nodded before glancing to Theo as he paused and offering a smile. "Hey there, housemate."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus looked over as Millicent addressed another person. "Something I can do for you Mr. Nott?" He asked when he realized who the boy was, he looked a lot like his father.

[Theo Nott]

"Hello Millicent." Theo greeted before turning to Lestrange. "Hello Professor, i was curious about you answer to Millie's teaching question is all."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"It was such an interesting question," Millicent nodded and smirked a little.

[Theo Nott]

"It was." Theo agreed. "But then again, I have always been curious about a Professor's point of view." he added.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"What exactly is so intriguing about a professor's point of view?" Rodolphus asked.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"He makes a good point," Millicent told Theo as she motioned to Rodolphus. "I mean, aren't all point of views interesting? Why just professors, specifically?"

[Theo Nott]

"Most students have similar points of view." Theo told Millicent. "I also have my opinions about our classmates." He added before turning the Lestrange.

"A teachers view on my peers is what i am curious about."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

Rodolphus studied Theo for several moments before he spoke. "For the most part students here are lacking in the skills i would say they needed. The school has been too soft in recent years."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Well," Millicent had to admit as she nodded. "That's kind of true, I guess. We can't really do much with the stuff we've been learning." Still...now it seemed things were too harsh. Was there no happy medium? Life was pretty extreme.

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"There is plenty that you can do." Rodolp[hus replied. "You just haven't been shown how to utilize the spells that you do know."

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Ah," Millicent nodded with a smirk. "That's a good point, professor."

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"Every spell has a use." He added. "You just need to know exactly how to apply it. Some of the most common charms are great for torture and interrogation." He added with a smirk.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Huh," Millicent responded before tilting her head, considering that. "Like what?"

[Rodolphus Lestrange]

"The drought charm." Rodolphus replied instantly. "You can use it to dry out certain areas of skin, or use it to dry up the small amount of water you are offering to a person who you have been withholding water from." he said.

[Theo Nott]

Theo nodded what Rodolphus said made sense. It also wasn't something he would have thought of.

[Millicent Bulstrode]

"Hm..." Millicent tilted her head and considered that. It did make sense, but she would personally handle that situation differently. "If I was withholding water from a person, I probably wouldn't dry it up like that. No, I'd probably let it fall to the ground in front of them and test their dignity and desperation, you know? See if I've actually broken them enough that they'll actually stoop to drink it off the ground at my feet." She smirked, "make them feel indebted to me, in a way."
