Alex merely nodded before sighing and looking to the food that had been laid out at the table. He kind of wasn't in the mood for breakfast at the moment. However, he might regret it later and so he absently reached forward and grabbed an apple, observing it unseeingly, chin still in his palm.

Alex glanced down at his friend, feeling a new wave of sympathy before reaching out and giving him a pat on the shoulder. He then smirked and placed the apple down in front of him, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away."

Caden released a faint chuckle at that, picking his head up once more and grabbing the apple. "Well, we'll definitely want to avoid that, won't we?" he japed, with a slight nod, as he took a bite of the fruit. "Thanks, kid," he told him, before setting his head down once more.
