[Alecto Carrow]

"I like crazy, it's so much more entertaining than sane," Alecto replied reasonably, an amused smile tilting her lips.

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Well," Alex tilted his head then, considering her, a small smile lingering on his own lips. "You're a little crazy yourself. I will agree that it's considerably...intriguing. However, it seems I've given you even more of an incentive not to answer my question."

[Alecto Carrow]

"Crazy? Moi? I think the word you're looking for is eccentric," Alecto corrected uncrossing her legs and slipping off of the bed. Standing the woman gave a bit of a stretch (somewhat cat-like in appearance) before adjusting her healers hat once more. "Boy is it slow in here... Amycus must not be out playing just yet."

"You're definitely eccentric," Alex responded, before tilting his head. "But also a little crazy, I think. Everyone is, in their own way." He considered her comment about her brother then. Yeah, he suspected a lot of people were brought in here. He withheld the urge to sigh in response to that thought and the implications behind it before slowly standing and observing her a moment. He then indicated the stethoscope around her neck, "so, crazy," he smirked, a sort of endearing tone lacing the way he said that word, "did you have any plans for that or was it merely to complete the outfit?"

The woman looked at him, a small smile on her lips but something very much so less pleasant in her yes "What did I say about calling me crazy, Precious?"

As Alex observed that look which seeped back into Alecto's eyes, his defenses again rose and he sighed. Her mood had shifted, subtly, but still enough for him to be on his guard. He supposed she might have some sort of personal aversion to that word being used on her, despite referencing it as being something to be amused by earlier. "Alright, if you prefer, I'll try and refrain from using it again. Which is a bit of a shame," he forced a smirk, "I'm a bit fond of it myself." He tilted his head, "have you ever read Alice in Wonderland, by chance?"

"Yes well then feel free to refer to yourself or your friends as such, but I'm still your Professor." At his next question the woman turned fully, regarding him slightly curiously. "What is a wonderland?"

Alex looked down at Alecto as she faced him, her expression suddenly inquisitive. Professor, huh? This woman was very back and forth, which made it difficult to anticipate her. First she was eager to see what he would come up with for a nickname, and the next she seemed somewhat against the idea. Oh well. Moving on. She had once again answered one of his questions with one of her own.

What was a wonderland? There were many different interpretations for it. "I suppose," Alex began, considering, "that it's simply whatever you want it to be. That's what makes the concept so 'wonderful'."

The woman frowned at him, eying him suspiciously "I don't know what means. I thought you said this Alice person was there already? So how would it be what I want if that's the case?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Well, I was actually merely explaining my theory on the concept's definition. It's what each individual person wants it to be," Alex replied. "I was answering your question there on what I believe a wonderland specifically is."

"In Alice's case, however, it's more of an irony. Her wonderland both confuses and terrifies her. In the end though, she learns from it and emerges into reality as a more mature individual. It's about the transition between childhood and adulthood."

"Okay…" Alecto responded before making a 'go on' motion with her hand. After all, he *did* have a point, didn't he?

Alex nodded, observing her disposition carefully. "It was merely a thought that suddenly came to me. A comparison between her wonderland and where we are the moment, here at this school. We, the students, are undergoing this same 'transition'. Due to the trials set before us, we're maturing and realizing who we individually are." He paused before quoting, "'There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder," He looked to her pointedly, "mystery, and danger'."

Both of her brows rose in an mix of thoughtfulness and surprise "Hmm… I suppose that's an interesting take on matters. You said this is a book or comic?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

"It was a novel written in the mid-1800's," Alex responded. "It's incredibly abstract." He smiled slightly, thinking over the story. "It's a favorite of mine, actually. Definitely worth reading at least once." After a pause, he observed that surprised expression of hers, the first he had really seen on her face. He stepped a little closer, voice lowering a little as he found he could somewhat relate to the main character.

"'In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again." He dared to venture even closer, watching her cautiously but once again driven by that prominent curiosity, "Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next.'"

Alecto blinked "She sounds like an odd girl... this is a childrens story?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Yes," Alex replied with a nod, still gazing down into the withdrawn depths of her eyes. "Though it also holds a certain appeal for adults too, considering how metaphorical it is." He smiled distantly then, "and Alice is rather strange. She's a very curious character."

[Alecto Carrow]

His wording was weird, though his expression hinted it was some type of inside joke "Yes well… whatever…" she flipped her hair over her shoulder. "Don't you have a class to attend?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

Alex's eyes widened a little, before he recomposed himself. She was letting him go? He looked to her suspiciously a moment before slowly nodding. "Yes, probably." He offered a small, parting smile, observing the way her hair was falling over her shoulder a final time. "Until next time then, professor. It's been..." He searched for the right word before responding simply, "fun."

She shot him a grin "Yes it has been. I'll be sure to see you again soon Precious."

Alex's smile widened at that before he stepped back and turned, leaving the Hospital Wing behind as his thoughts concerning his strange interaction with Alecto lingered. He hardly knew what to think about it. Confusion and infatuation warred within his mind and he sighed, not even knowing where to begin to sort it all out.
