[Alexander Chevalier]

"I know..." Alex agreed as his eyes lowered. There was absolutely nothing right about it. At all. "There isn't anything pardonable about some of her actions. Whatever reasons led her to this point, the fact of the matter is that she is the type of person who does these sorts of inhumane things. She honestly believes she's doing what's right, but I'm pretty sure she also realizes that there's something immoral about her actions. She just considers it all worth the price of that ultimate goal of hers. I don't find anything wrong with the goal myself, honestly, but those methods..."

He shook his head, "those methods just aren't worth it, in my opinion. They shouldn't be going about it like this." He thought of their leader then, "and besides, she's following a man who doesn't share the same views. He just hates the Muggles as a race. It isn't about securing a better future for our people or rising above our fear in order to emerge from hiding away like this. It sort of seems like he wants to start some sort of...genocide. I suppose she's just using his goal to further her own."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Also, don't rule out the fact that the woman's kinda crazy," Caden shot him a wink. "But...now you've got me a little curious. What's this goal of hers you find yourself agreeing with all of a sudden?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Oh, I haven't," Alex smirked. "I'm always very aware of it." He then tilted his head before winking, "looks like someone is taking a page out of the curiosity book. But, really, it's just what I said before. She wants to secure a better future for future generations and stop living in fear like this. She doesn't want to have to hide what we are."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Eh...," Caden gave a slight shake of his head, "dunno 'bout you, but sorta seems like there's two goals for her here. While that whole securing the future or whatever there may be true, you can't deny that she sorta has a contempt for them muggles herself. She definitely has an agenda to off them, or to at least set us above them. Considering how, having the perk of magic on our side, we're significantly more powerful than muggles, what she's basically promoting is trampling down on the weak. Whatever other motives she might have, I can never condone somethin' like that."

[Alexander Chevalier]

Alex sighed, "I think there's some specific reason why she's so set against them. I won't deny that she does seem to have some sort of underlying vendetta against them. However, I'm not so sure that she's so much wanting to trample down on the weak. I believe that she told me the truth about her goals."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Oh, I'm not saying that's what her intention is, how she's looking at it," Caden quickly informed him. "I'm saying that, this is the end result. However she's looking at it, or whatever she's trying to gain from it, that's what'll end up happening. I just think she got herself some warped views."

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Well," Alex shrugged. "Warped methods, at least."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Her views...however much you can sympathize with them, they're warped, they're taking a bit of divergent path from reality," Caden stated. "Warped in that sense. Sorry, can't always find the right wording for things."

[Alexander Chevalier]

"It's alright," Alex smirked before glancing away. He paused before looking back to him, "so, you don't really agree with it? You don't think we should try and reach some sort of harmonious existence with the Muggles? Granted, I don't know if she's wanting harmonious, necessarily. You're probably right there. But, for the sake of argument, what'd you think about that idea in general?"

[Caden McGinnis]

"Harmonious? Sure," Caden gave an easy shrug at that. "I got nothing wrong with a bit of harmony. A pleasant homeostasis, y'know? But, you know, man...with the whole, slowly introducing more and more muggle-borns into our society, letting them learn about it, opening the doors a little...it's a slow progression, sure, but in the long run, I think it has the potential to be effective. I mean, it's such a...revolutionary idea. So many people were against it, refused to jump on board of that, and now...we're just slipping on back into what witches and wizards have always done. I dunno...the methods suck, man. That's all I gotta say. What they're trying to do, it's wrong, and what they're doing is wrong. Yeah, I can appreciate some good ideals, some noble goals, but even that still doesn't change where they are."

[Alexander Chevalier]

"No, it doesn't," Alex agreed. "That's true." He then narrowed his eyes in thought, considering what Caden had said. "But you might have a point there, about the Muggle-borns being allowed in this school. And you know? I think it's possible that one of the reasons so many were so opposed to the change was the fact that it might put them at risk, allowing Muggles to know about the magical world. I mean, some of them are every bit as proficient as we are. Hermione Granger being an example of that."

He shook his head, "of course, there's also the resentment but I'm sure a lot of people in our society question whether opening our doors to them is a risk to our kind. It wouldn't surprise me if, somewhere down the road, a Muggle with a resentment for us and how many of us treat them, gets invited to Hogwarts, is taught how to use our own form of weaponry and inspires more Muggle-borns to follow the cause. They could very well retaliate. It's like an endless cycle of that resentment, from both sides."

[Caden McGinnis]

"I agree, man," Caden nodded his head. "And it's retarded. At the risk of soundin' something like a tree-huggin' hippy...why can't we all just...get along?" he gave a half-joking, half-serious smirk as he said it.

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Exactly," Alex chuckled then with a shake of his head. "But it really does sound a little lame."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Yep...definitely," Caden heaved a sigh, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. "Very lame. But hey," he shrugged, a smile returning to his expression, "that's life. It's an adventure, ain't it?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Oh, definitely," Alex nodded in agreement. "An endlessly surprising one. That's sort of part of the appeal though. Never knowing exactly what to expect."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Yep," Caden nodded in agreement. "It's thrilling, terrifying and exhilarating all at once. Wonderful little thing, this life of ours, isn't it? Personally, I'm a huge fan," he shot a wink toward Alex as he said it.

[Alexander Chevalier]

"As am I," Alex nodded with a small smile. "Despite everything going on right now...I don't regret anything that has happened. I wouldn't want to change a thing."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Well, there really isn't a point in letting your mind fester in the past too much," Caden gave a shrug of his shoulders. "Nothing we can do to change it, and yeah...the present wouldn't be the present without the past."

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Pretty much," Alex nodded. He then sighed and observed his friend silently a moment. Ginny had asked him to carry out the initial pitch with Caden. Where was he going to start?

"Hey," He began, taking on a more serious tone. "Do you think, if offered the opportunity, you might want to actually do something about what's happening here? Take a stand?"

[Caden McGinnis]

"Um...yeah," Caden stated, as if it couldn't be anymore obvious.

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Right," Alex smirked. It hardly required any asking, but it all still needed to be said. "Well, it just so happens that there might be a way for your to that, if you're willing to commit. Magically binding yourself to secrecy and all that."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Ooh, gettin' all...secretcy," Caden wiggled his eyebrows. "Nice. Sounds legit."

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Mhm," Alex responded, looking to his friend in amusement. "It's, heh, somewhat legit." He then reclaimed his more serious expression, "but seriously, Cade, it's something you'll have to be completely sure of. Will you swear yourself to silence?"

[Caden McGinnis]

"I sooo swear," Caden returned with a wink.

[Alexander Chevalier]

"Alright," Alex replied as his smile returned. He knew that, despite Caden's outwardly playful response, he was entirely sincere. "I'll take you to meet with our 'leader' whenever you're ready."

[Caden McGinnis]

"Well, hey, no point in waiting," in one single motion, Caden jolted himself up off the couch and landed on his feet. "Who's the leader?"

[Alexander Chevalier]

"You'll see," Alex smirked before rising in a more leisurely fashion than his friend. "Follow me," he turned towards the door and headed out the room, smirk softening. It was definitely going to be nice having Caden with them.

[Caden McGinnis]

Resting his hands comfortably in his pockets, Caden followed after his housemate, a little intrigued at the prospect of meeting this...mystery leader. Should be fun.
