It's a new year and to celebrate we're giving you a brand new Distant Fantasies. The site has undergone a a massive revamp unlike anything we've done before. Moving to Invision Powerboard has given us the chance to connect everything and introduce new features.

As staff on RP games as well we understand the kind of problems that crop up and we know there is a great need for resources to help with the running of a site. DF is somewhere RP staff and members can come for all of this. As well as excellent resources and staff who empathise, we also make it easier for your game to be listed. You only need to sign up for the site to actually add your game to the directory, you do not need a post count. Your directory listing will also be fully customisable, including the ability to link to your social media, include canon lists, images, videos, buttons, banners, and you can update it at any time!

When you make a request for a game, character, piece of coding or the like you have a whole 30 days in which to bump it, so there is no need to keep coming back to bump nor fear your request gets archived too soon. Your Canon Lists can be posted - we do not delete them! You do not even have to bump them! They remain on the forum there for ALL to see!

We have excellent services including IP.Gallery, website hosting and domain names, reviews for your games, a unique Buddy System - a Player Directory essentially - and a place to exchange characters. The DF RP Realm also offers "mini rpg's". Our resources are fully stocked and updated regularly, with new resources being added all the time! You can interact with us via social media on all popular social networks and you can also be plugged and featured via our social media.

Finally, Distant Fantasies is a site run by people who love this hobby and love to provide a service, and so we approach helping you in a mature and friendly manner. The entire site is run this way and we encourage healthy and happy and friendly interactions and promote useful and edifying topics and discourage any type of negativity. We love RP and we love to help those who love it too.

The Battle of Hogwarts and the death of Voldemort and all that he stood for occurred nearly 22 years ago, bringing about an age of peace that no one had ever thought possible. People lived in relative harmony and there was very little crime. The Aurors spent most of their time rounding up the former Death Eaters and war criminals, placing most members in Azkaban and giving special pardon to those who were deemed safe for society.



This peace has lasted for quite a while, though another, separate threat began building. Discrimination began to rise, but the Pureblood and Muggleborn feud wasn't the primary problem anymore. A law was passed into the Ministry of Magic, stating that any employer had the right to deny work to an employee of half-breed descent, that half-breeds can be denied medical care if needed, and they can be denied service at any establishment if the owner and proprietor so choose. Any and all vampires, werewolves, part-veela, and those born with unusual abilities were immediately thrown out of most jobs if their status was well-known. It was already a difficult time to be a half-breed, but this law made things much more difficult.



There are still a select group of places that will hire half-breeds without a problem, Hogwarts being one of them. That has brought the once safe school into question. With half-breeds being hired and being allowed to attend school at Hogwarts, there are some unhappy students and parents. St. Mungo's still has a specialized facility in helping those half-breeds, though there's no telling when that will change.



A group has begun to rise out of all of this: the Children of the Moon. They are a gathering of half-breeds who are sick and tired of being treated as lesser beings. It is unclear as to what their plan is, and the group itself hasn't made itself public.



On the other hand, there are whisperings of a new Dark Lord or Lady coming out into the opening and gaining strength, though no one is sure what validity these claims have. The Order of the Phoenix has been around since the previous Wizarding War, though they're dwindling in numbers.



The Ministry has been keeping all of these things under wraps, hoping to keep everything the way that they want. Publications about any and all news events that come close to mentioning the half-breed revolt or the new rise of Death Eaters in The Daily Prophet or Witch Weekly are being censored.



No one is really sure what to believe at this point. As the new school year begins, tensions are beginning to rise amongst the students and staff, though no one will address it fully.

Since the dawning of time, Melkor has been the darkest force imaginable through all the lands known. His is the greatest power to challenge the Valar and all that is bright and good within the world, a power that has long extended its force across Aman and Arda and that even now, continues to twist and weave in the Void.



Ages of Arda examines the times of the world as seen by those who suffer beneath the mechanization of Melkor throughout the Ages. From the First Age through to the end of the Third Age and Sauron's War with the One Ring, there is no corner of time in which Melkor's darkness does not take root and fester.



Every Age sees Melkor differently and in multiple manners. Perhaps the most prevalent of these manners, beyond Melkor himself, is through the actions of the Moringothonna, the Disciples of Morgoth who walk through every age and affect the turns of the tide....



Here on AoA, the fates of the Early Ages are sealed - though how they come to their end, and what fate awaits the end of the War of the Ring, only time will truly be able to tell. The question is, in what Age do you dwell?

Ages of Arda is a canon Tolkien RPG with room for AU elements, meshing both book canon and movie canon. We span all the Ages of Middle Earth, from before the first moon's rise, to the beginning of the Fourth Age, after the destruction of the One Ring. Canons from all Tolkien books, from the Silmarillion to the Lord of the Rings, and OC's are welcome and desired.



At the moment, we are in need of characters from the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, namely from the Company and the Fellowship. There is also a very active First Age community with dozens of canons still free to choose from!

The kingdom of Hyrule has lived in peace since the events of Ocarina of Time. Link was allowed to live and grow up in the Kokiri Forest until he decided on his own that it was time to leave. He has had many adventures since, and has met many companions as well, but now he has returned home to find Kokiri Forest in ruins. Only a few Kokiri children remain, and even they are considering the idea of moving into the Lost Woods.

Soon afterwards, the three ancient Goddesses, Farore, Nayru and Din, appeared to him in a dream. The warned him that the reason this happened was because the Sages of Hyrule have been keeping a dark secret from the royal family. Lord Ganondorf has been released and is now after this secret that has the potential to destroy not only Hyrule, but every kingdom surrounding it as well. Now Link must team up with all of his previous companions to stop the secret of Hyrule from being released.

Mytho Magic is a blending of greek mythology and the Percy Jackson universe's mythology. It's based loosely on the series it takes place after The Lightning Thief movie/book. While this is based off the series its not going to solely focus on Percy Jackson. That doesn't mean we won't possibly get to the books or even the Sea of Monsters movie.

All campers will start off as unclaimed unless they are CANON and it was stated which godly parent they had. So everyone will start off in the Hermes cabin (11). The gods are the ones who will determine if you are their child. Like life, we can't choose our parents. They will see what your personality, traits, and what you are like in your posts before they claim you. Just remember that not everyone gets claimed.

It's currently 2011 and as far as the Percy Jackson universe he is 15 and the only thing that has happened so far is the Lightning Thief. We know that Kronos isn't as dead as everyone thought while the gods are in denial about him. Grover is off in search of Pan while Luke is off trying to recruit for Kronos.
